Different universities have different opinions about citing page numbers in your references. Some believe that readers appreciate when you provide exact location of all references and hence page numbers should be cited in your references. It will further provide origination of the ideas or the sources of the information. For citing page numbers as per APA, use “p.” (for page number of an article) and “pp.” (for page range of article) to indicate the page numbers when citing newspaper articles and book chapters. Some university guidelines suggest omitting page numbers when citing journal and magazine articles. In case, an article appears on discontinuous pages, insert comma to separate the page numbers (example, “pp. 2,6”).
